Much attention has been paid in recent years regarding medieval monuments to attribution, style, workshop origin and dating but far less to iconography and the various ways in which those who read them intended them to be ‘read’ or otherwise experienced. This conference is intended to address that lacuna and includes papers on both English monuments and those in Europe.
