Roman Catholic diocese to halve number of parishes

The Roman Catholic diocese of Salford is to halve its number of parishes from 150 to 75, shutting large numbers of churches. Partly this is due to a shortage of priests. Story in the Manchester Evening News and the report of Bishop John Arnold (pictured) here.
